Prince Philip Mounted Games - Junior and Senior - Queensland 2010 - information

2009 Games Riders at Selection Day

The Prince Philip Mounted Games team (both Junior and Senior) will compete in Queensland 23rd and 24th July 2010. 

Nambour Showgrounds, Sunshine Coast 

The Coach for the Junior Team is Barry Harper and the Coach for the Senior Team is Mike Cotton.

Nominations for Chaperone are now being called and all interested persons are invited to apply.  Nominations for Chaperone will close on the 13th February, 2010.

The following selection procedures will be trialled for the Junior team and if deemed successful will be adopted for the future.

• A selection for a squad of 8 riders will be held on the 20th February, 2010
• There will be at least 6 training days/weekends before the national event.  Both the junior and seniors teams will train together whenever possible.
• Locations for the training will be determined by the make up of the riders.  They will be equalised as much as possible to each zone to minimize travelling.
• The Junior Team will be finalised on the 4th training day.
• The Selectors will have knowledge of the riders training and their improvement over a time, rather than the best riders on one day.

• The Senior Team will be selected with one reserve on the 20th February 2010.
